Read about joint pain, including the symptoms and treatment options.
Have you ever, in your life, been injured on any part of your body? As a child, you probably saw bumps and bruises, but as we mature into teens and young adults we see fewer injuries to our extremities. Over the years, you may have pulled muscles or had broken bones as well. It is these injuries that seem to cause the most pain at certain times of the year. Do you suffer from a joint injury? Read on to learn more about continuous joint pain. Some people experience joint pain that causes the knees and elbows to lock up. This pain is caused because there is a deficiency in vitamin D within the body. Since vitamin D is an added supplement to most dairy products, it's sometimes difficult for people to get enough of the vitamin. Non-dairy products like rice milk and soy milk, may not offer enough vitamin D needed for the normal functions of the body. Never fear! Supplements today have come a long way, and many are used to help treat joint pains and aches. Why do Joints Hurt at Different Times of the Year?Depending on where you live, your body could be sensitive to cold weather and humidity. These two factors make it hard for people with arthritis, joint pains and chronic pain syndrome. Joints are very sensitive and they are often painful for other reasons, such as excessive joint strain – due to obesity or from working in an environment that requires you to carry heavy objects. Joint sprain could have affected you as a young child or an adult, and it affects two thirds of the population in America. Infections are often culprits in creating aching joints and muscles. Bone cancers are also responsible for many joints that swell. If you lessen your activities during the cold winter months, it may put a strain on your joints, and you will most likely not have as many painful days as usual. During the summer, spring and fall months, it's even easier to overdo things while working in the yard, house or on vacation. No matter what you do, you should be careful if you have joint pain. Is There a Good Medicine to Take for Joint Pain?Over the counter drugs are often the preferred way to go for joint pain. If you take aspirin for any other condition you might have, it may not be wise to take an Advil or an Aleve tablet in conjunction with it unless recommended by a doctor. As with all medications, seek advice from your regular physician or health care provider. This article is strictly for information only, it is not meant to give professional advice or offer a cure.
